Class covers helpful principles in the construction of a convincing portrait drawing. The head in perspective, surface anatomy, and proportions of the head, line and mass drawing are explained and demonstrated. Concepts including light and shade, planes and volume of the head, and the structure of features. Participants of all skill levels using preferred media to draw portraits have fun in a non-intimidating atmosphere.
10am - 1pm
Fee for the demonstration session is $10
Members and non-members are encouraged to attend and explore the wonder of watercolor. Class is open to all skill levels. Create works with emphasis on different techniques including but not limited to washes, glazing, wet in wet, dry brush, lifting off, painting on different surfaces, dropping color, creating textures, mixing, learning about materials, how to frame work and prepare work for exhibits.
Watercolor sessions meet every Saturday morning from 10am - 12pm. $10 per session. All levels welcome. Haven’t painted before? No problem. This is the place to learn and enjoy art. For information and questions please call Ellen Black at 265-6783.
