The Casper Artists' Guild, Inc. is a nonprofit organization offering art exhibitions and workshops for the education and enjoyment of the citizens of Casper and its surrounding communities. The Guild was organized in 1924, making it one of the oldest organizations in the State dedicated to promoting and developing an interest in visual arts. Our Purpose is to provide an opportunity for members to create art for their own enjoyment, to learn new artistic skills, or to improve on the skills they have. Beginning artists are welcome as well as professionals.
We are a volunteer organization. There are many areas where members can be of considerable assistance in Guild activities! It takes the efforts of many people to put on successful shows, workshops, and to manage the affairs of the Guild. We hope you will attend receptions for show openings and enjoy the refreshments and fellowship. Please choose an activity, or job, on a subcommittee that appeals to you and join in the fun!

Celebration where our deep appreciation to the artists, Casper Artists Guild members, volunteers, donors and grant makers will be happily expressed. Please plan to attend!

2018 traffic box public art project
Submission Deadline March 30, 2018
Dear Artist and Friend of the Arts,
Every lighted intersection in Casper has a plain, boring signal cabinet that controls the traffic light. Keep Casper Beautiful wants to transform some of these boxes into public art. The Keep Casper Beautiful Public Art project is calling all Natrona County artists to submit an original work of art. Suggestions for themes include “rebirth,” “western,” “landscape,” “abstract,” and “photography.” Out of the many submissions, four works will be selected. The winning works will then be transformed into vinyl wraps that will cover four traffic signal cabinet boxes downtown.

Wyoming Watercolor society
ART 321 and the Wyoming Watercolor Society are again teaming up to offer A Range of Vision, a small format water media exhibition with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Best of Show winners. The show will hang in the ART 321 gallery during the month of May, so we ask all water media artists, 18 years of age or older, to begin working on original artworks in any water-based medium that can measure no more than 12” X 16” unframed. Up to 3 pieces may be entered by each artist. Please submit your artwork online and pay special attention to Range of Vision rules, especially if shipping art.
ART 321 invites you to give the gift of Art to someone special! We have a wonderful lineup of art workshops for 2018 for you to choose from and present to friends and family members in the form of an ART 321 Gift Certificate. In January, we have Make Your Mark! Creative Approaches to Drawing for All by Mary Jane Edwards, perfect for anyone wanting to learn to draw or improve their drawing abilities; an Intergenerational Art Survey class designed to introduce adult/child teams to drawing, ceramics, watercolor and pastel painting; and the start of Holly Bryson’s 6-week Beginning to Intermediate Watercolor Painting class. These are gifts that promise lasting joy!
METAL FLOWERS WORKSHOP
The ART 321 Metal Flowers Workshop with Betsy Bower has already filled up for February 17 & 18, but we are keeping a list with the names and contact information of people interested in taking a repeated session of this class at Betsy’s studio. She is willing to do an additional class or two for people wanting to learn hands-on welding, blacksmithing, plasma cutting and metal finishing techniques. Please call or come by ART 321 to have your name added to a waiting list and we will contact you when future Metal Flowers Workshop dates have been set. By signing up, you will be among the first to be notified when a new class is scheduled.
Students in this ART 321 workshop will join Betsy Bower in her shop and learn all the skills necessary for producing their own metal flower, which can be proudly displayed either indoors or outdoors. After hearing the basics of shop safety and signing a liability waiver, participants will use a plasma cutter and grinding tools, apply techniques for shaping their flower petals, learn some standard blacksmithing while hammering metal that will become a flower stem and weld the pieces together to complete a metal flower. The class is scheduled for Saturday & Sunday, February 17 & 18 and the cost is $115 for ART 321 members; $130 for non-members – plus a supply fee of $20 for each student. A list of what to wear and bring to the class can be obtained at ART 321.
If you have long admired Melanie’s famous Silly Stars or if you have always wanted to learn the techniques used for creating copper foil stained glass artworks, this workshop is for you! Students in this ART 321 workshop will make their own silly star, exercise their own happiness and learn foiling and soldering while cutting, grinding and/or choosing pre-cut pieces of glass to incorporate into their stars. This class is on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fee is $50 for ART 321 members; $75 for non-members and all materials will be provided.
BEADED BOHO JEWELRY Workshop
ART 321 invites you to join instructor Whitney Asay for a joyful journey of creating as you learn to craft an inspired necklace in the boho style. Using both bold colors and earth components, you will weave together your own necklace by incorporating a stunning variety of boho beads, linen and a unique pendant. This workshop is at ART 321 on Saturday, March 10 from 12-4 p.m. The class fee is $55 for ART 321 members; $75 for nonmembers – plus a supply fee of $15 for each student.
INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED WATERCOLOR Workshop
Award-winning master watercolorist, Graham Flatt, will be offering a workshop at ART 321 on May 4, 5 & 6. This class is designed to allow participants to understand and embrace their own creative processes in a safe and supportive environment while moving forward on their own painting journey without fear. Specifically, this workshop walks you through the hows and whys of using contrast to create bold, impressive paintings regardless of subject matter or medium. Participants are encouraged to bring their own reference materials and paint any subject matter of interest to them. Price for the 3-day workshop is $225 for members; $275 for non-members.
